Who we are

A community centre for rights, safety, and hope.

Ingomuso Lethu Centre is a registered non-profit organisation, NPO 187-993, based at Stand no 1580, Verena D, next to Mhlutshwa Primary School or Fellowship in Christ Church. Established in 2017, the centre responds to the social and economic challenges facing vulnerable households.

The organisation provides gender-based violence support, paralegal assistance, psychosocial referrals, human-rights education, youth development, and community mobilisation with partners across justice, health, education, and social services.

Ingomuso Lethu Centre focuses its programmes and outreach on the people and places where support is needed most.

  • Rural communities & schools Door-to-door outreach, school programmes, and community mobilisation across Verena D and neighbouring areas.
  • Vulnerable women GBV support, counselling referrals, survivor empowerment, and pathways to safety and independence.
  • Youth Life skills, drug advocacy, mentoring, and human-rights education for learners and young people.
  • Disabled Accessible support, referrals, and advocacy so people with disabilities can access their rights and services.

Social behaviour-change work with SANCA, including Khuluma Ndoda dialogues, mental-health conversations, and campaigns.

Survivor support systems in partnership with SAPS and the Department of Social Development.

Agroecology programme

Food-garden work that builds confidence, skills, and practical independence for GBV survivors.

Pre-counselling and a safe first point of support for people seeking help.

Door-to-door outreach

Door-to-door outreach campaigns, particularly around gender-based violence (GBV) awareness, support for survivors, and connecting community members with services.

The centre operates within Thembisile Hani Local Municipality under Nkangala District in Verena. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 15:00. Reach out for free advice, referrals, or to join a campaign. If you are in immediate danger, contact SAPS or your nearest emergency service first.
